Emulsifying Wax Vegetable (Bulk)
This easy-to-use emulsifying wax is derived from plant-based alcohols and sugars. It is typically used to help form oil-in-water emulsions such as lotions, creams, foundations, creamy face and body masks and other emulsified products. Material Origin : It is derived from sustainable palm source, wheat and corn. Appearance: Pastilles or Flakes. Use Level: Typically at 3-6% as the emulsification system in a cream. Can be used at higher levels where it will thicken the emulsion substantially, however using more than 6% in most formulations may lead to formula instability. Consider increasing your product's viscosity by adding Cetearyl Alcohol as a stand-alone ingredient plus this emulsifier used as suggested above. Chemistry: Non-Ionic. Solubility: Heat and melt in the oil phase of your formula. Group: Emulsifiers. Alternative Names: Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Aqua. EINECS: 267-008-6, 928-659-8, 231-791-2. CAS No. 67762-27-0, 246159-33-1, 7732-18-5. Pack Sizes: 100G; 500G; 1KG; 5KG; 20KG and above upon request. Product ID: RMSWCETEGLUC. Formula cautions: This emulsifier has a broad-tolerance for actives including acids, vitamins and salts and in many cases will be the only emulsifier required. However, we do recommend fully testing your emulsions prior to scale-up and in some cases, a secondary emulsifier or emulsion stabiliser may be useful. Please Note: As with any manufacturing process, New Directions encourages small, lab scale manufacturing for evaluation purposes prior to full commercial manufacturing.

Green French Clay (Bulk)
A conditioning and nourishing clay for all skin types. Green French Clay is especially useful in formulas for sebum control. Great for face and body masks. Green French Clay has a mixed mineral origin: Kaolinite or kaolin clays can be coloured if the surrounding soil is rich in minerals. Some of these minerals have beneficial properties for the skin while others don't so much. All Kaolinites are reasonably good drawing agents as they pull toxins from the skin. Kaolin is often used as a base for clay masks due to it being well tolerated by most people. Illite is a mica type mineral occurring in argillaceous sediments with Illite being a general term for the clay minerals from this type of sediment. Argillaceous minerals appear ... smectite clay - smectite .... These clays are cationic and have a cationic exchange capacity due to the Magnesium and Aluminium in the structure. These clays swell in water and can be used to thicken and stabilise emulsions. This clay will swell a little in water. 100% natural mineral which is allowed to be used in COSMOS formulas. Appearance: Light green fine powder. Manufacturing Process: The clay undergoes a mechanical treatment, without any chemical process. It is crushed and dried. Formulation Tips: 5 - 40% in masks. Blends well with other clays. For best results, wet into the water phase prior to the addition of thickeners or oil phase. Can be added to a finished emulsion with good homogenisation. Homogenisation is recommended. Group: Clay. Alternative Names: Illite, Kaolin, Montmorillonite, Aqua. EINECS: 601-803-4, , 310-194-1, 215-288-5, 231-791-2. Hyaluronic Acid 1% Liquid (Bulk)
Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally in the body and generally decreases with age. In the skin it exists in the epidermis and keeps the skin hydrated and supple due to its high water retention ability. As we age our production naturally decreases and we begin to notice alterations in our skin such as wrinkling or dry skin. A product containing Hyaluronic Acid would be beneficial for mature or dry skin to help restore smoothness and elasticity of the skin. Please note that there are two main sources of Hyaluronic acid the first being animal extracted (from Rooster Combs typically) and the second being bacterial fermentation. Our material is from bacterial fermentation using glucose that is corn derived to create the hyaluronic acid in a biofermentation process. The product is still classified as natural and used in natural and organic cosmetic manufacturing. Our Liquid is at 1% active for ease of addition into your finished skin care as an alternative to the powder for ease of manufacturing - the powder can be difficult to hydrate as it tends to form clumps if it isn't mixed at high speed. Use between 1-100% of the ingredient to give a Hyaluronic acid content in your product of 0.01-1%. Hyaluronic acid is highly effective as a humectant (water binding agent) so it isn't necessary to use a high percentage if you don't want to. The ingredient can be used directly on the skin if required. Group: Active. Alternative Names: Aqua, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin. EINECS: 231-791-2, 618-620-0, 204-589-7, 408-080-2. CAS No. 7732-18-5, 9067-32-7, 122-99-6, 70445-33-9. Pack Sizes: 100ml; 500ml; 1KG; 5KG; 20KG and above upon request. Product ID: RMAASODIHYAL.

We recommend an evidence-based approach to optimising your product's preservation strategy and as such advise undertaking stability and micro testing to inform your formulating decisions in this area. The only way to be sure that your preservative system is working in your product is to carry out micro testing. While we are happy to pass on information and make theoretical recommendations of how to get the best out of our ingredients we can make no guarantees without this testing. There are two levels of test that a microbiological lab will do - one is a micro count which gives you a 'moment in time' look at the cleanliness of your formula and may also characterise the microbes present. The second is a Preservative Efficacy Test or PET. This is highly recommended as it tests how your product performs over time when it is challenged by microbes. You are legally requir

Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (Bulk)
Form: Powder/Flake. Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is an anionic surfactant derived from coconut fatty acid and sustainable palm that are used in many cosmetic and personal care products. In particular, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is used in the preparation of skin cleansing products such as soaps and washes as well as in shampoos and other hair cleansing products. By helping water to mix with oil and dirt, this surfactant is great at rinsing dirt away from the skin and hair leaving both feeling fresh and clean. Activity Level: Minimum of 85% surfactant solids with up to 15% free fatty acids and some residual water. Material Origin: A reaction between Coconut Fatty Acid and Sodium Isethionate. Sodium Isethinonate is created via a reaction between Sodium Hydroxide (lye), Sodium Bisulfide and Ethylene Oxide. It is made from sustainable palm oil. Applications: Use in skin and hair cleansing preparations. Use Levels: Up to 53% as supplied in rinse off formulations and up to 17% in leave-on. How to use: As this is a dry surfactant it can be blended into a dry formulation such as a dry shampoo, bath bomb, powdered facial cleanser or equivalent or can be added to the water phase of a standard, water based cleansing product (shampoo, shaving product, cleanser etc). Caution: This ingredient has quite a low water solubility so it is far better placed in a creamy shampoo base rather than clear.
