Aloe Vera [200:1] Powder - Fruit & Herbal Powder Extracts
This is a 200:1 powdered aloe which means that to re-constitute it so that it is a single strength Aloe Liquid you need to add only 0.5g of Aloe Powder to 99.5g of Water (0.5% to 99.5%). The Aloe Powder will completely dissolve into water but will not form a gel. This is because the pulverising and powder processing breaks up the complex sugar chains into smaller chain lengths that can no longer form a gel. This does not impact in the performance of the Aloe in your product though as the minerals and moisturising properties remain. To thicken your Aloe Water we recommend adding something like Xanthan Gum, Carrageenan, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose or Carbomer. These thickeners will swell in water to form a gel-like base that can then be used as a facial serum base or just as a soothing Aloe Gel. Otherwise we do sell a ready-made aloe gel. In addition to thickning the Aloe Water the water will also need preserving. We have a range of preservatives available to suit a wide range of ingredient philosophies and product asperations. Phenoxyethanol
Features: - Non-formaldehyde-releasing preservative. suitable for a wide pH range. - Offers good head-space protection. - Suitable for leave-on and rinse-off products. - Stable to hydrolysis so can be used in high temperature mixtures up to 80C. - Globally Approved. - Broad Spectrum Action - Bacteria, Yeast and Mould. Caution: Phenoxyethanol is a slow acting preservative and can take up to 48 hours to become fully effective in a formula. During that time a high-risk formulation may have enough time to overwhelm the product rendering the phenoxyethanol useless. High risk formulations are those that have a high water content and that may or may not also contain colours, herbal extracts, biological material (peptides, milk etc), exfoliant particles, clays and muds. In high risk formulations we recommend blending the phenoxyethanol with a second, faster-acting preservative such as Piroctone Olamine, Glyceryl Caprylate, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Potassium Sorbate and Sorbic Acid or an alternative. In terms of what would make the optimal blend, the only way to answer that is with testing. All we can offer is the information on maximum and typical use rates, pH stability and solubility. Group: Preservatives. CAS No. 122-99-6. Pack Sizes: 100g, 500g, 1Kg, 5Kg, 20Kg, and above upong request. Product ID: RMPVAPHEN. EINECS: 204-589-7.

Potassium Sorbate
Potassium Sorbate is a commonly used preservative in the food industry and is based on sorbic acid which is produced naturally by berries. The potassium sorbate is manufactured by reacting the Sorbic Acid with Potassium Hydroxide (lye or wood ash). Potassium Sorbate is very good at tackling mould and as such is a useful addition to products such as clay masks, pigmented make-up, exfoliating creams and moisturisers containing fresh herbal extractions. Potassium Sorbate is not classified as 'broad spectrum' so is usually paired with other preservatives to give a product full coverage from bacteria, yeast and mould attack. Usage: Use 0.1 - 0.5% in formulations. Group: Preservatives. CAS No. 24634-61-5. Pack Sizes: 100g, 500g, 1Kg, 5Kg, 20Kg, and above upong request. Product ID: RMPVAPOTASORB. EINECS: 246-376-1.
