Xylene: Clear colourless, sweet smelling, aromatic hydrocarbon. Xylene is a mixture of three Xylene isomers (metaxylene, orthoxylene and paraxylene) and ethyl benzene. Typically metaxylene is a predominant isomer. Xylene is miscible with vegetable oils, alcohols, ether and most organic solvents but not water. Due to its pure, aromatic nature it is an excellent solvent for many synthetic and natural resins, fats and waxes. Common name(s): Xylene, Xylol, Dimethyl Benzene. UN Number: 1307
Xylene: Paint and Resin Manufacture: Xylene is mainly used in making surface coatings where a slower evaporation rate than Toluol and comparable solvency power are important features. It is used in the formulation of automotive enamels and lacquers, baking enamels, furniture lacquers, marine paints and other protective coatings. Xylene is used in making alkyd resins. Insecticides and Pesticides: Carrier in making many chemical insecticides. Printing Inks: The high solvency properties of Xylene make it suitable for use in printing inks. Adhesives: Used in formulating adhesives such as rubber cements. Industrial customers who buy Xylene are advised to download and read the SDS or MSDS sheet available for free download. Buy Xylene 1 Litre, 2 Litre, 4 Litre, 20 Litre, 60 Litre and 200 Litre Drums. Note we are also bulk Xylene suppliers in New Zealand. We also supply Toluene in NZ.

Peg Solvent 150 A clear, colourless, liquid with a high aromatic content and a relatively low volatility. High flash point makes it suitable for use as a solvent carrier.
Common name(s): High Aromatic White Spirits, High Aromatic Hydrocarbon Solvent, Aromatic Hydrocarbon High FP, Solvent 150, Solvent R150, Pegasol R150, UN Number: 3082. Peg Solvent 150: Uses: Printing Inks, Used in the manufacture of both screen and lithographic printing inks. Insecticides. Paints & Resins, Peg 150 is a ‘retarder’ of the highest solvent power and promotes secondary flow in high-gloss baking enamels and similar products. Its slow evaporation rate causes a levelling out of the components in resinous coatings which gives a glass like finish. Also used in force dried paints and as a solvent carrier in chlorinated rubber and swimming pool paints. Industrial customers who buy Peg Solvent 150 are advised to download the SDS sheet available for free download. Buy Peg Solvent 150 1 Litre, 4 Litre, 20 Litre, 60 Litre and 200 Litre Drums. Note we are also bulk Solvent 150 suppliers in NZ.

Toluene: a clear, colourless, refractive aromatic hydrocarbon liquid of high volatility. It is highly aromatic and has a purity which meets nitration grade requirements. Toluene has a mild sweet aromatic odour, and is miscible in alcohol, ether, acetone and most other organic solvents. It is only slightly soluble in water. Used when the highest solvent power and volatility are required. Common name(s): Toluene, Toluol, Benzene, Aromatic Hydrocarbon Solvent, Methylbenzene, UN Number: 1294
Toluene: Surface Coatings: In the manufacture of synthetic resins and polyurethane. It is widely used in both automotive and furniture lacquers, brush enamels and marine paints. Toluol is used in thinner formulations and in brush cleaning products. Adhesives: Toluenes strong solvent power makes it ideal for use in the manufacture of adhesives and allied products. It is used in rubber-gum adhesives, rubber cements and pressure sensitive tapes. Cement for fine polystyrene kits. Racing Fuel Additive: Toluene may be used to increase gasoline octane number and as a fuel additive carrier. In general when Toluene is added to gasoline in only relatively small amounts, the octane number of the fuel increases substantially. Toluene should not be used in an unmodified vehicle as overheating and consequent engine damage is likely. Miscellaneous: Manufacture of dyes, medicines, perfumes, as a raw material in chemical synthesis, explosives manufacture, synthetic leather, ink manufacture. Used as Winter Thinners because of it rapid evaporation. Cleaning agent for Neoprene adhesivies as used on floor coverings like carpet, vinyl & cork. An excellent general purpose thinner for those small cleaning jobs. Industrial customers who buy Toluene are advised to download and read the SDS or MSDS sheet available for free download. Buy Toluene 1 Litre, 4 Litre, 20 Litre, 60 Litre and 200 Litre Drums. Note we are also bulk Toluene suppliers in New Zealand.
