Crambisol® (Bulk) Information: Based on Abyssinia Oil this active blend has been designed to strengthen and give volume to the hair. Abyssinia is known for its high quality and high yielding vegetable oil and is a popular crop across the Mediterranean and North Africa from where it originated. This blend has been designed to penetrate into the hair cortex where it can increase hair thickness and strength. While the ingredient efficacy does increase on leaving this on the hair for a prolonged time period, the active is suitable for rinse-off products and can be formulated into shampoo and/or hair conditioners as well as hair sleep masks, deep conditioning treatments and hair serums. Use Levels: 0.1-5%. Origin: Vegetable derived. pH Stability: Expected to be stable across a wide pH range. Heat Stability: Stable to the normal heat ranges experienced in cosmetic manufacturing. Can be added into the oil phase (and heated) or added in at the end of manufacturing at the cool-down phase. Solids may form at cooler temperatures when stored below 15°C , gently warm to 35-40°C and mix to return to solution. Group: Active. Alternative Names: Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Phytosterols, Oleyl Alcohol. EINECS: Not allocated, 619-079-3, 205-597-3. CAS No. 68956-68-3 [AICIS], 949109-75-5 [PCPC; ECHA], 143-28-2. Davidsons Plum Powder - Australian Native Extract (Bulk) Davidson's Plum is a rainforest tree found in Queensland and Northern NSW that bears dark purple fruit with vibrant red flesh. This fruit is high in the anthocyanin group of anti-oxidants and polysaccharides which provide anti-ageing benefits and significant hydration for the skin. The phytochemicals in this extract are freeze dried after harvesting to maintain their efficacy and freshness. Botanical Name: Davidsona pruriens. Common Name: Davidson's Plum. Traditional Name: Ooray (Yirrganydji people of Northern Queensland who speak Djabugay language). Powdered Extract Strength: 10:1. Appearance: this is a dark purple powdered extract that has a high but incomplete solubility in water. This means that it is best to hydrate and filter this before adding it to your cosmetic product. Applications: Use as an active ingredient in skincare products. Particularly well suited for anti-ageing products. Usage Instructions: The powder is 10 times stronger than the fresh fruit so to make a re-constituted fruit juice you would need a mix of 10% powder into 90% demineralised water + preservative (for maintaining the freshness). The powder is highly water soluble but it is always a good idea to filter any extracts before using them in a finished product to remove any solids or un-dissolved powder. Group: Extracts. Alternative Names: Davidsonia Jerseyana Fruit Extract. EINECS: 920-206-2 [ECHA]. CAS No. 1174401-42-3. Pack Sizes: 15G; 100G; 500G; 1KG; 5KG and above upon request. Product ID: EXANDAVIPLUM. If you do make a reconstituted liquid as per above, we recommend using this in your product at anything from 1-50% of your formula. If you want to go ahead and add the powder directly to your formula you could use it at between 0.1-5% but do remember that it required moisture to rehydrate and so will not mix into an oil based product. It can be added dry to powdered clay masks or colour cosmetics if you wish. New Directions Australia

Green French Clay (Bulk) A conditioning and nourishing clay for all skin types. Green French Clay is especially useful in formulas for sebum control. Great for face and body masks. Green French Clay has a mixed mineral origin: Kaolinite or kaolin clays can be coloured if the surrounding soil is rich in minerals. Some of these minerals have beneficial properties for the skin while others don't so much. All Kaolinites are reasonably good drawing agents as they pull toxins from the skin. Kaolin is often used as a base for clay masks due to it being well tolerated by most people. Illite is a mica type mineral occurring in argillaceous sediments with Illite being a general term for the clay minerals from this type of sediment. Argillaceous minerals appear ... smectite clay - smectite .... These clays are cationic and have a cationic exchange capacity due to the Magnesium and Aluminium in the structure. These clays swell in water and can be used to thicken and stabilise emulsions. This clay will swell a little in water. 100% natural mineral which is allowed to be used in COSMOS formulas. Appearance: Light green fine powder. Manufacturing Process: The clay undergoes a mechanical treatment, without any chemical process. It is crushed and dried. Formulation Tips: 5 - 40% in masks. Kaolin White Australian Clay (Bulk) Kaolin is a widely used clay for cosmetic purposes. It won't swell or thicken in water like bentonite clay does so it does require suspending in a water-based product using either a thickening gel agent or an emulsifier. Kaolin is commonly used as the base for clay masks where it provides good coverage and drying capacity. It it common to use Kaolin as a base clay and then add specialist, more active clays over the top of this to provide the activity. Use Levels: 0.5-50% Typically but can be applied to the skin in any concentration once wetted. Precautions: While kaolin is a dry ingredient it can still harbour micro spores and mould spores can be quite common as they are ubiquitous in the air. When adding clay to a cream or water-containing product it is wise to re-evaluate your preservative efficacy and, if needed, increase the preservative dose or change to a faster acting system. The only 100% reliable way to know if your preservative system is working for you is to run Preservative Efficacy Testing or a Micro Count. These tests can be carried out in a micro testing laboratory and should form part of your product R&D budget. Group: Clay. Alternative Names: Kaolin, Aqua. EINECS: 310-194-1, 231-791-2. Pink Australian Clay (Bulk) Pink Australian Clay has a lower iron content than the red clay hence the lighter colour. This essential minerals to help replenish and regenerate the epidermis of the skin to create softened and conditioned skin with a healthy glow. The clay can be blended with other clays for different properties and effect or used as a stand-alone additive for face and body masks. To form a paste, mix approximately a teaspoon of Pink Australian Clay with 1/3 tsp of water to form a paste. Mix until colour is unform. Due to natural variation this product in its dry powder form may appear to look extremely pale, however when incorporated into formulas or mixed with a liquid the colour develops into a deep pink colour. Whilst mixing with liquid one may notice slight streaking of colour, which is normal, and the product should be mixed until a uniform colour is achieved. Note: In late 2018 the mine extracting the Australian pink clay was closed due to exhausting the natural clay desposits. In order to maintain supply of the same specification product New Directions commenced manufacturing the pink clay from Australian mined kaolin and Iron oxide pigment. This produces a clay with the same characteristics and chemistry and the original product but via a slightly different process. Group: Clay. Alternative Names: Kaolin, Aqua, CI 77491, CI 77499.
