| Aloe Vera [200:1] Powder - Fruit & Herbal Powder Extracts (Bulk) | This is a 200:1 powdered aloe which means that to re-constitute it so that it is a single strength Aloe Liquid you need to add only 0.5g of Aloe Powder to 99.5g of Water (0.5% to 99.5%). The Aloe Powder will completely dissolve into water but will not form a gel. This is because the pulverising and powder processing breaks up the complex sugar chains into smaller chain lengths that can no longer form a gel. This does not impact in the performance of the Aloe in your product though as the minerals and moisturising properties remain. To thicken your Aloe Water we recommend adding something like Xanthan Gum, Carrageenan, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose or Carbomer. These thickeners will swell in water to form a gel-like base that can then be used as a facial serum base or just as a soothing Aloe Gel. Otherwise we do sell a ready-made aloe gel. In addition to thickning the Aloe Water the water will also need preserving. We have a range of preservatives available to suit a wide range of ingredient philosophies and product asperations. Use Level: Typically re-constituted at 0.5% in water but can be used at any level between 0.05-5%. Solubility: Fully water soluble with no residue. Forms a colourless, water-thin solution when re-hydrated. Compatibility: Generally compatible with most other actives, can be too salty for some emulsions and can cause creams to become destabilised in some cases. | Green French Clay (Bulk) | A conditioning and nourishing clay for all skin types. Green French Clay is especially useful in formulas for sebum control. Great for face and body masks. Green French Clay has a mixed mineral origin: Kaolinite or kaolin clays can be coloured if the surrounding soil is rich in minerals. Some of these minerals have beneficial properties for the skin while others don't so much. All Kaolinites are reasonably good drawing agents as they pull toxins from the skin. Kaolin is often used as a base for clay masks due to it being well tolerated by most people. Illite is a mica type mineral occurring in argillaceous sediments with Illite being a general term for the clay minerals from this type of sediment. Argillaceous minerals appear ... smectite clay - smectite .... These clays are cationic and have a cationic exchange capacity due to the Magnesium and Aluminium in the structure. | Hyaluronic Acid 1% Liquid (Bulk) | Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally in the body and generally decreases with age. In the skin it exists in the epidermis and keeps the skin hydrated and supple due to its high water retention ability. As we age our production naturally decreases and we begin to notice alterations in our skin such as wrinkling or dry skin. A product containing Hyaluronic Acid would be beneficial for mature or dry skin to help restore smoothness and elasticity of the skin. Please note that there are two main sources of Hyaluronic acid the first being animal extracted (from Rooster Combs typically) and the second being bacterial fermentation. Our material is from bacterial fermentation using glucose that is corn derived to create the hyaluronic acid in a biofermentation process. | Pink Australian Clay (Bulk) | Pink Australian Clay has a lower iron content than the red clay hence the lighter colour. This essential minerals to help replenish and regenerate the epidermis of the skin to create softened and conditioned skin with a healthy glow. The clay can be blended with other clays for different properties and effect or used as a stand-alone additive for face and body masks. To form a paste, mix approximately a teaspoon of Pink Australian Clay with 1/3 tsp of water to form a paste. Mix until colour is unform. Due to natural variation this product in its dry powder form may appear to look extremely pale, however when incorporated into formulas or mixed with a liquid the colour develops into a deep pink colour. Whilst mixing with liquid one may notice slight streaking of colour, which is normal, and the product should be mixed until a uniform colour is achieved. Note: In late 2018 the mine extracting the Australian pink clay was closed due to exhausting the natural clay desposits. In order to maintain supply of the same specification product New Directions commenced manufacturing the pink clay from Australian mined kaolin and Iron oxide pigment. | Plantaserv C (Bulk) | This preservative is chemically similar to our Plantaserv D but it has been produced using a slightly different process which allows it to be used in some certified organic formulations unlike the Plantaserv D. The certifying bodies that have approved this preservative are the OFC, COSMOS and Ecocert. Origin: Plant based. Heat Stability: Relatively good can be added into your product at temperatures up to 80C. Dose Rate: 4% is the maximum amount that can be used. 3-4% is a typical addition rate. pH range: 4.5-5.5 is ideal but we have had success with products that have pH ranges slightly outside of this (3-6). Always be sure to run Preservative Efficacy Testing before settling on your formulation. Microbes Targeted: Broad-Spectrum (Bacteria, Yeast and Mould).
