| Potassium Ferricyanide | Potassium Ferricyanide is also known as red prussiate, prussian red or potassium hexacyanoferrate(III). It is a coordination compound that is stable at room temperature and pressure and forms ruby red crystals and powder. It is soluble in water and its solution shows some green-yellow fluorescence. The compound has widespread use in blueprint drawing and in photography. Iron and copper toning involve the use of potassium ferricyanide. Potassium ferricyanide is used as an oxidising agent to remove silver from negatives and positives, a process called dot etching. The compound is also used to temper iron and steel, in electroplating, dyeing wool, as a laboratory reagent, and as a mild oxidising agent in organic chemistry. Grades: Technical. | Potassium Permanganate | Potassium permanganate is the chemical compound KMnO4. The salt is also known as "permanganate of potash". The permanganate ion is a strong oxidising agent. It dissolves in water to give deep purple solutions, evaporation of which gives prismatic purple-black glistening crystals. Potassium permanganate is used as an oxidising agent in diverse chemical reactions in the laboratory and in industry and also serves as a disinfectant as well as finding use in deodorisers. It can be used as a reagent for the synthesis of many different kinds of chemical compounds. In wastewater treatment, it is used to neutralize hydrogen sulfide. In analytical chemistry, a standardized aqueous solution of KMnO4 is sometimes used as an oxidising titrant for redox titrations due to its deep purple colour. NB: Potassium permanganate is listed as a Table I precursor under the United Nations Convention Against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances. | Sodium Ferrocyanide | Sodium Ferrocyanide is the sodium salt of the coordination compound of formula [Fe(CN)6]4-. It is a yellow crystalline solid that is soluble in water and insoluble in alcohol. Sodium ferrocyanide is a chemical food additive known as E535 in the EU. It is added to road and food grade salt as an anticaking agent. When combined with iron, it converts to a deep blue pigment called prussian blue. It is used as a stabilizer for the coating on welding rods. | Tripotassium Citrate | Tripotassium Citrate is the common Tribasic Potassium Salt of Citric Acid, also known as Potassium Citrate. It is produced by complete neutralisation of Citric Acid with a high purity Potassium source and subsequent crystallisation. Tripotassium Citrate is used in foods, beverages, and technical applications as a buffering, sequestering or emulsifying agent.
