| Hyaluronic Acid 1% Liquid (Bulk) | Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally in the body and generally decreases with age. In the skin it exists in the epidermis and keeps the skin hydrated and supple due to its high water retention ability. As we age our production naturally decreases and we begin to notice alterations in our skin such as wrinkling or dry skin. A product containing Hyaluronic Acid would be beneficial for mature or dry skin to help restore smoothness and elasticity of the skin. Please note that there are two main sources of Hyaluronic acid the first being animal extracted (from Rooster Combs typically) and the second being bacterial fermentation. Our material is from bacterial fermentation using glucose that is corn derived to create the hyaluronic acid in a biofermentation process. The product is still classified as natural and used in natural and organic cosmetic manufacturing. Our Liquid is at 1% active for ease of addition into your finished skin care as an alternative to the powder for ease of manufacturing - the powder can be difficult to hydrate as it tends to form clumps if it isn't mixed at high speed. Use between 1-100% of the ingredient to give a Hyaluronic acid content in your product of 0.01-1%. Hyaluronic acid is highly effective as a humectant (water binding agent) so it isn't necessary to use a high percentage if you don't want to. | Sodium PCA 50% (Bulk) | Origin: Derived from Amino Acids which are sourced from sugar and modified using biotechnology. Activity: 50%. Solubility: Water soluble. Heat Stability: Good - can be added into the water phase prior to heating but avoid temperatures over 75C. Use Levels: 1-3%. Sodium PCA is hygroscopic, attracting moisture from the air. It is used as a moisturizer (humectant) for hair and skin care products. It is a stronger hydrating agent than the traditional compounds used for this purpose, such as glycerine, propylene glycol, or sorbitol. Sodium PCA is also part of your skin's "Natural Moisturising Factor" (NMF). The NMF being composed of Lactic Acid and Lactate Salts (usually Sodium Lactate), Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid (PCA), Urea, Metal Ions, Sugars and Amino Acids. This combination may vary in exact composition depending on many internal and external factors but generally can be considered a powerful moisturiser. | Tripotassium Citrate | Tripotassium Citrate is the common Tribasic Potassium Salt of Citric Acid, also known as Potassium Citrate. It is produced by complete neutralisation of Citric Acid with a high purity Potassium source and subsequent crystallisation. Tripotassium Citrate is used in foods, beverages, and technical applications as a buffering, sequestering or emulsifying agent. It usually replaces Trisodium Citrate whenever low sodium content is desired. In pharmaceuticals it is used as a Potassium source and as an active ingredient to treat urinary duct stones.
