| Xylene: Clear colourless, sweet smelling, aromatic hydrocarbon. Xylene is a mixture of three Xylene isomers (metaxylene, orthoxylene and paraxylene) and ethyl benzene. Typically metaxylene is a predominant isomer. Xylene is miscible with vegetable oils, alcohols, ether and most organic solvents but not water.
